If you are a self-confident Linux user (our hosting servers are running on Linux or other Unix-based OSs), you could administer your dedicated servers via a Secure Shell console only. That, however, could be awkward, especially if you wish to give full root-level access to somebody else who has less technical experience than yourself. This is why having hosting CP software pre-installed is an intelligent idea. The Hepsia web hosting CP user interface that we offer does not give you full server root privileges and is mostly appropriate for someone who runs a lot of online portals that consume lots of resources, but desires to administer the web sites, databases and email boxes through an intuitive web hosting CP. The DirectAdmin and cPanel Control Panels, on the other hand, give you full root privileges and include three levels of access - root, reseller and user. If you intend to resell hosting accounts rather than utilizing the dedicated servers only for yourself, you should select one of these two.

Web server monitoring and backup procedures

Last but not least, there is the matter of monitoring the dedicated servers and of backing it up. In case of a predicament with your dedicated web hosting server, such as a non-responsive Apache or an outage, it is useful to have some kind of monitoring platform enabled.
